Terms of Use

Effective: 9 April 2026 · Last updated: 9 April 2026

By downloading, installing, or using UKPass ("the app"), you agree to the following terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

1. Description of Service

UKPass is a study tool designed to help users prepare for the Life in the UK citizenship test. It provides practice questions, study notes, spaced repetition review, and mock exam simulations based on the official "Life in the United Kingdom: A Guide for New Residents" handbook.

2. Eligibility

By agreeing to these terms you confirm that you are at least 18 years old, or that you have the consent of a parent or guardian. Use of the App Store is subject to Apple's own terms, which require the account holder to be at least 13 years old (or the applicable minimum age in your jurisdiction).

3. Not an Official Government Product

UKPass is an independent educational tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the Home Office, the UK Government, or any official test provider. The app does not guarantee that using it will result in passing the actual Life in the UK test.

4. Content Accuracy

We endeavour to keep the questions, explanations, and study materials in the app accurate and up to date. However, laws, policies, and facts can change, and we cannot guarantee the content reflects the most current test material at all times. For authoritative information, always refer to the official handbook and gov.uk.

5. In-App Purchases

The app offers a one-time premium unlock (non-consumable in-app purchase) that provides access to additional chapters, study features, and statistics. All purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store.

6. Intellectual Property

All questions, study notes, explanations, and other original content in UKPass are copyright © Mykola Kotliarenko. You may not reproduce, distribute, or sell any content from the app without written permission.

The "Life in the United Kingdom: A Guide for New Residents" handbook is Crown copyright. UKPass does not intentionally reproduce handbook passages verbatim. All questions and study notes are original works that cite the handbook for factual accuracy.

7. User-Generated Content

Custom flashcards and any other content you create within the app are stored locally on your device. We do not access, collect, or review user-generated content.

8. Limitation of Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for: (a) death or personal injury caused by negligence; (b) fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or (c) any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

Subject to the above, and to the fullest extent permitted by law:

As a consumer in the United Kingdom, you have statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 in relation to digital content that is faulty or not as described. Nothing in these terms affects those rights. For more information, visit Citizens Advice.

9. Privacy

Your privacy is important to us. Please read our Privacy Policy for details on how the app handles your information. In short: we collect nothing.

10. Apple's Standard EULA

Use of the app is also governed by Apple's Licensed Application End User Licence Agreement (Standard EULA).

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes that affect your rights, we will post the revised terms at this URL with a new "Last updated" date and, where possible, provide notice through the app. Continued use of the app after such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms, except where the changes materially reduce your rights in relation to a purchase you have already made, in which case the terms that applied at the time of your purchase will continue to govern that purchase.

12. Severability

If any provision of these terms is found by a court to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

13. Dispute Resolution

If you have a dispute regarding the app, please contact us first at kotliarenkostudio@gmail.com so we can attempt to resolve it informally. If we are unable to reach a resolution, the dispute shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. Nothing in this section limits your right to bring proceedings in any court of competent jurisdiction if required by applicable consumer protection law.

14. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
